I like quotes, from famous ones to not so famous ones. There are two quotes that are posted by my computer screen that I read every morning before I start work. The one I would like to share with you this morning is by Paul Henderson – “I get up every morning and it’s going to be a great day. You never know when it’s going to be over so I refuse to have a bad day.”
Now, I would like to say that I heed that advice feverishly, but to be honest, I truly struggle with this one. And really, it should not be a struggle because as individuals, we are in control of our day, and even though we may have to deal with people who seem hell bent on making our day miserable, it is up to us how we choose to react to these individuals, as well as to daily events that affect us one way or another. And I truly believe that every day that we’re able to rise and go about our business and interact with our loved ones really is a great day. The degree to how great it is, is only limited by our actions, perceptions, and reactions. So here’s to another great day, because you never know when it’s going to be over!
